Job Title: BANQUET SERVER
Department: Banquets
Reports To: Banquet Manager
Rate of Pay: Percentage of service charges pool as commission
Shift: Part Time Year Round position
Variable day and evening shifts - Must have flexible schedule Monday through Sunday
MUST BE AVAILABLE WEEKENDS & HOLIDAYS

SUMMARY
Greeting and interacting with guests as part of a service team to create a memorable experience for the guest by exhibiting remarkable personal skills and providing exceptional service in a casual and professional environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Warmly greets each guest.
Service Guests in Conference and Catering in relation to guest's contract/Banquet Event Order.
Ensures consistent excellent guest service.
Executes tasks and duties assigned by Captain, Supervisor, or Manager.
Working knowledge of bartending and setting a bar
Sets buffets and assists in maintaining buffet during service.
Observes guests responding to any additional requests and clear upon completion of meal.
Ladles soup, portions pies and desserts, brews coffee and iced tea, serves drinks, and performs other services as determined by establishment's size and practices.
Clears and resets tables and buffets.
Cleans kitchen areas sweeping, mopping, and washing serving items, cleaning coffee machines, urns and fridges.
Assist Houseman in room set up and breakdowns in relation to guest contract.
Stocking inventory in service areas- teas, coffees, sodas, sugar, linens, paper products and any other relating services.
Safety vehicle guidelines.
Assists captains in cleanliness of room before, during and after service.
Knowledge and compliance of Utah liquor laws.
Observes and promotes sanitation guidelines.

DRESS CODE
Sundance recognizes the impact that our image has on the guest's impression of the resort and the perception of our ability to provide professional service to our clientele. In order to best promote a positive, professional image that meets Sundance guest's expectations, employees are required to dress in a professional, conservative fashion that is appropriate for their area. Please use the following as a minimum standard:
All aspects of the Personal Appearance policy (SPL#50) must be in compliance.
Servers are required to wear nametags at all times while on duty.
Clothing must be unwrinkled and clean, and in good condition (no rips, tears, or frays regardless of whether accidental or fashionably placed).
Tan or khaki pants, no cargo pants or capris
Shirts must be tucked in.
A tailored fit is required of all clothing. No sagging pants.
Tank tops, halter tops, tube tops, and spaghetti straps are prohibited.
Uniform shirts provided by manager.
Black aprons to be worn while on the floor in front of guests.
Bare midriffs are prohibited.
Proper footwear for your department is required.
Black leather shoes, sneakers are prohibited while clocked in.
Flip flops are prohibited in all areas.
If your department allows t-shirts, they must be in good condition and have appropriate Sundance logos.
If your department allows baseball caps, they must be in good condition and have appropriate Sundance logos.
Failure to comply with the dress code policy or enforce dress code and personal appearance policies with their staff, may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

TECHNICAL/COMPUTER SKILLS
Point of sale system proficiency.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid U.S. Drivers' License in good standing as determined by Sundance's Insurance Company guidelines.
Must have or obtain a current food handlers permit within 30 days of employment.
Must have or obtain a current alcohol service permit within 30 days of employment.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Employee will lift crates, chafers, furniture, AV equipment, decorations, cases of sodas or drinks, linen bags, wine boxes, etc. Employee also assists with room setup, food tables and decorations.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to wet and /or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.
Employee will transport inventory to and from buildings and surrounding areas in relation to guest contract.
