Job Title: BANQUET HOUSEPERSON
Department: Banquets
Reports To: Banquet Manager and Set-Up Manager
Rate of Pay: $12.50 hr Commission
Shift: Part-Time, Year Round Position
Variable day and evening shifts, MUST HAVE FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE MONDAY THROUGH SUNDAY.
Weekends, holidays and special events are required based on business needs.

SUMMARY
Prepare guest function spaces for arrival of guests through set-up, break down. Clean up and refreshes throughout the function. Along with the above description the houseperson will make adjustments according to sight coordinators requests. The houseperson is also to ensure that banquet rooms are stocked, keep track of inventory and assist servers in taking care of the guests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Executes tasks and duties assigned by Banquet Manager and Supervisors.
Set rooms according to Banquet Event Order's and make sure buildings are stocked and clean.
Gathers china, glass, silver and all items relating to service.
Work under the direction of the Banquet Manager and Supervisors to ensure buildings are in proper working conditions.
Upkeep and proper storage of banquet equipment.
Regular inventory of banquet equipment.
Ensure compliance of fire codes in banquet spaces.

DRESS CODE
Sundance recognizes the impact that our image has on the guest's impression of the resort and the perception of our ability to provide professional service to our clientele. In order to best promote a positive, professional image that meets Sundance guest's expectations, employees are required to dress in a professional, conservative fashion that is appropriate for their area. Please use the following as a minimum standard:
All aspects of the Personal Appearance policy (SPL#50) must be in compliance.
Operational employees are required to wear nametags at all times while on duty.
Clothing must be unwrinkled and clean, and in good condition (no rips, tears, or frays regardless of whether accidental or fashionably placed).
Blue jeans are permitted.
Men's shirts must be tucked in.
A tailored fit is required of all clothing.
Tank tops, halter tops, tube tops, and spaghetti straps are prohibited.
Proper footwear for your department is required.
Flip flops are prohibited in all areas.
Tennis shoes are prohibited in all areas.
If your department allows t-shirts, they must be in good condition and have appropriate Sundance logos.
If your department allows baseball caps, they must be in good condition and have appropriate Sundance logos.
Failure to comply with the dress code policy or enforce dress code and personal appearance policies with their staff, may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or General education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

TECHNICAL/COMPUTER SKILLS
No technical /or computer skills are required for this position.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid U.S. Drivers' License in good standing as determined by Sundance's Insurance Company guidelines.
Must possess or obtain a valid food handlers permit within 30 days of employment.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
