Job Title:                    PARKING AMBASSADOR w/ CDL

Department:               Parking

Reports To:                Parking & Fleet Manager     

Rate of Pay:                $14.00-$16.00 (CDL) DOE

Shift:                           Variable shifts daily 6AM- 4:30 PM; 4PM-12:00 AM; Monday - Sunday Full-Time and Part-Time, Seasonal              

                                    Weekends, holidays and special events are required based on business needs.



The Parking Ambassador with CDL is the first impression the guest has of the resort and creates an inviting, organized, and efficient sense of arrival for our guests.  Their primary focus is on guest service and providing necessary information and directions for all Sundance guests.  At times, they also drive a shuttle bus on and off property.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Warmly greet guests in a friendly and professional manner directing them to the appropriate parking lot for their needs.

Assist in maximizing the parking inventory for events and high-volume days by directing the guest into an individual parking stall.

Demonstrate knowledge about all aspects of the property including lodging, dining, shops, mountain recreation, events, activities and their locations.

Provide helpful information about opportunities of the day, including answering questions and giving directions to their desired venue.

Share the Sundance story of land preservation and environmental commitment as the occasion arises.

Pacify disgruntled guests utilizing exceptional people skills.

Recognize lodging and other resort issued parking passes and direct accordingly.

For lodging check-ins, obtain the guest's last name and radio to the front desk to contribute to a seamless arrival.

Direct guests and employees to suitable parking area to prevent congestion and promote exceptional guest service.

Operate radio to communicate professionally with base and other vehicles.

Ensure cleanliness of parking lots and shuttles.

Support the recycling program.

Conduct daily vehicle inspections i.e. checking oil and all essential fluids; clearing snow and ice as part of a thorough exterior inspection.

Clean interior and exterior of vehicles.

Fuel vehicle following protocols.

Transport people on and off Sundance property in all types of vehicles, including shuttles that carry more than 16 people per vehicle (Requires CDL License).

Safely drive employees and guests to and from overflow parking lots in twenty-five passenger mini-bus.

Safely drive vehicle to all destinations according to assigned schedule.

Transport guests to the outdoor stage by safely driving the Theater Tractor.

Assist disabled passengers into and out of vehicle.

Administer carpool incentive for employees and guests.

Comply with no-idling policy and reduce carbon footprint. Operate Ranger ATV safely

Support and participate in environmental programs associated with position, for example:  minimize waste, recycle, conserve energy, purchase and use sustainable products, educate co-workers/guests on environmental ethic, support vendors with similar environmental ethic, decrease pollution levels, minimize the use of toxic chemicals, restore wild life

habitats, and carpool with co-workers to minimize carbon emissions.  All employees are invited to participate in environmental or Sundance Preserve sponsored events.



Sundance recognizes the impact that our image has on the guest's impression of the resort and the perception of our ability to provide professional service to our clientele.  As representatives of Sundance all employees including mangers are expected to be in compliance with the Dress Code determined for his/her department as defined in the job description or follow the standards below.


In order to best promote a positive, professional image that meets Sundance guest's expectations, employees are required to dress in a professional, conservative fashion that is appropriate for their area.  Please use the following as a minimum standard: 


All aspects of the Personal Appearance policy (SPL#50) must be in compliance.

Employees are required to wear nametags at all times while on duty.

Clothing must be unwrinkled, clean, and in good condition (no rips, tears, or frays regardless of whether accidental or fashionably placed).

Blue jeans are permitted.

Men's shirts must be tucked in.

Appropriate skirt length is from the knee to the ankle.

A tailored fit is required of all clothing.

Tank tops, halter tops tube tops, and spaghetti straps are prohibited.

Sleeveless shirts are permitted for females.

Bare midriffs are prohibited.

Proper footwear for your department is required.

Dress sandals are permitted for females.

Flip flops are prohibited in all areas.

Tennis shoes are prohibited unless there is a business need (ie:  Mtn. Ops.)

Fashion sneakers are allowed within department approved parameters.

If your department allows t-shirts, they must be in good condition and have appropriate Sundance logos. 

If your department allows baseball caps, they must be in good condition and have appropriate Sundance logos.

If your department allows beanies, they must be in good condition and Sundance branded.

Employees working in retail outlets may wear t-shirts and caps that are sold in their area if no uniform is provided.

Must possess a valid U.S. Drivers' License in good standing as determined by Sundance's Insurance Company guidelines.

Mandatory CDL for Parking & CDL Driver: Commercial Drivers' License with passenger rating, Class C, if driving mini-bus off property.



Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.



Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.  Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.



Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
