Job Title: BANQUET BARTENDER
Department: Banquets
Reports To: Banquet Supervisor, Banquet Captain and/or Banquets Manager
Rate of Pay: Commission
Shift: Variable shifts, Monday – Sunday
Part-Time Year Round Positions
WEEKENDS & HOLIDAYS REQUIRED

SUMMARY
Responsible for creating an exceptional Sundance experience by providing consistent, friendly, professional, and timely service of food and beverages for Banquets Members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Have a complete understanding of all applicable laws and regulations concerning service of alcoholic beverages in Utah. (As dictated by Beverage Department and State and local laws).
Exhibit responsible service of alcoholic beverages in accordance to state laws, policies and procedures.
Must be able to execute the Sundance beverage program as determined by recipes and direction of management along with creating 'on the fly' cocktails tailored to individual guest feedback.
Must possess a passion for the industry and assisting to maintain a team in collaborative environment.
Knowledge of beverages (i.e. beers, wines, liquors, etc) with ability to communicate with guests and staff
Consistently execute proper wine and champagne service
Provide exceptional service to customers
Take orders, prepare and serve cocktails for guests following resort guidelines
Transport and set portable bars according to banquet event orders or diagrams.
Set up and stock the bar at the beginning and end of each shift
Greet and converse with guests to suggest or receive cocktail orders
Enter orders in point of sale system.
Collect accurate payment for drinks.
Handle money in accordance with department policies and procedures
Keep accurate documentation of consumption of beverages served to groups
Follow Sundance standard for cash handling procedures regarding pick up, reconcilliation and check out of cash bank and to ensure that revenue matches sales recorded
Wash and buff glassware.
Serve hot and cold beverages, beer, wine and cocktails.
Prepare order to replenish stock at bar to pre-determined par levels
Assure the stocking and availability of all items during every shift to maintain a zero tolerance for '86d' items
Conduct opening and closing inventory for events
Complete required paperwork including bar transfers and dry stock deliveries
Stock items in proper location.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned station based on department and health department standards
Transport dirty dishes to kitchen dishwasher.
Perform opening and closing side work for efficient, professional service.

DRESS CODE
Sundance recognizes the impact that our image has on the guest's impression of the resort and the perception of our ability to provide professional service to our clientele. In order to best promote a positive, professional image that meets Sundance guest's expectations, employees are required to dress in a professional, conservative fashion that is appropriate for their area. Please use the following as a minimum standard:
All aspects of the Personal Appearance policy (SPL#50) must be in compliance.
Staff is required to wear nametags at all times while on duty.
Clothing must be unwrinkled and clean, and in good condition (no rips, tears, or frays regardless of whether accidental or fashionably placed).
Blue jeans are permitted- if no standard uniform is required.
Men's shirts must be tucked in.
Appropriate fit is required of all clothing.
Tank tops, halter tops, tube tops, and spaghetti straps are prohibited.
Sleeveless shirts are not permitted for females.
Bare midriffs are prohibited.
Proper footwear for you department is required.
Sandals and flip flops are prohibited in all areas.
No beanies.
Tennis shoes are prohibited unless there is a business need (ie: Mnt. Ops.)
If your department allows t-shirts or hats, they must be in good condition and have appropriate Sundance logos with no tears, frays, or rips.
If your department allows baseball caps, they must be in good condition and have appropriate Sundance logos.
Hair must be cleaned and combed. Long hair must be worn off the face.
No jewelry except for stud earrings and a wedding band.
Clean shaven or trimmed beard for men, no stubble
Pants/shirts must be free of stains, frays or holes
Pants/shirts must be clean and pressed
Employees must be showered with clean teeth, fresh breath, clean hands and nails
Banquets Standard uniform is ...Blue jeans, Sundance logo or non logo hat, black shoes, black socks, Banquets shirt, and black belt.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

TECHNICAL/COMPUTER SKILLS

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess or obtain a valid food handlers permit within 30 days of employment.
Must possess or obtain a valid alcohol service permit within 30 days of employment.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
